About Anthony

I grew up playing multiple sports, but once I reached high school, I committed fully to baseball. While that focus helped me develop my skills, a few untimely injuries and a poor mindset around those setbacks, ultimately left me off college recruiting lists.

When I arrived at the University of Tampa, I earned a walk-on spot with the team — an experience that validated the years of hard work I had put in. However, without scholarship support, I was faced with a difficult decision.

I chose to fully commit to my education, stepping away from the team to ensure I could complete my degree on time. During that period, I joined the Entrepreneurship program where I gained connections that led me to my first opportunity in professional athletics as an assistant with the New York Yankees.

Spending two spring trainings with the organization confirmed what I already felt — I belonged in athletics.

Following that experience, I began coaching in Tampa, working with athletes at an athletic club. This gave me firsthand insight into the impact that proper training, intentional programming, and world-class facilities can have on athletic development.

After learning from and working alongside more than 20 trainers, I knew I needed to bring that knowledge and standard of training back home.

ISLAND ATHLETICS

Over the next 6 years, I was fortunate enough to work with thousands of athletes across Rhode Island through Island Athletics.

With the support of other trainers, we helped develop athletes of all ages, ultimately guiding talent to over 50 universities and earning millions of dollars in scholarships.

That was our mission: to guide young athletes through their development process and use athletics as a pathway to education.

After six incredible years, I made the difficult decision to close the doors in order to dedicate myself full-time to working with the professional players who helped build the foundation and culture of the facility.

I look forward to continuing to make an impact for local athletes when I’m back home and through the online resources I’ve developed.

Training Philosophy

We begin with foundational movement quality - teaching efficient movement patterns that improves body alignment, muscle activation, and coordination. This creates a stronger base for athletic movements such as cutting, jumping, decelerating, and changing direction.

Once the movement foundation is solid, we progress into speed, agility, and strength work designed to translate directly to the court. This ensures your body can handle rapid demands, maintain control under fatigue, and execute skills at full speed.

This three-step system builds a sustainable path towards movement that creates an efficient, powerful, and pain-free system. Enabling you to perform with consistency from tip-off to the final buzzer.

The Inspiration

Over the past 7 years I’ve been fortunate to have had opportunities to gain insight from some of the most highly respected coaches in the industry. A lot of what I have learned from them is responsible for the inspiration behind my training style.
